Hugo Boss Steps Into 3D Printing With Launch of Innovative Loafer in Collaboration With Zellerfeld

July 2025 – German luxury fashion house Hugo Boss has officially entered the 3D printing arena with the debut of its cutting-edge loafer, the HUGO FORWARD x Zellerfeld, marking a bold step into the future of footwear innovation.

The shoe, unveiled at NAMESAKE’s Paris Fashion Week show, merges the timeless style of a classic loafer with futuristic technology. Created in partnership with Hamburg-based 3D-printed footwear pioneer Zellerfeld, the loafer represents a new milestone in scalable, fully 3D-printed shoe production.

Unlike traditional footwear, which is assembled from multiple materials and adhesives, the HUGO FORWARD x Zellerfeld is produced as a single-piece structure made entirely from recyclable material. This not only simplifies end-of-life recycling but also minimizes waste across the supply chain. The design features an integrated closure system, allowing wearers to easily adjust heel tightness for personalized comfort.

Through Zellerfeld’s advanced foot-scanning technology, customers can have their shoes custom-fitted to their exact measurements. Buyers can also select from multiple colorways, including beige, black, red, orange, and blue. The production process, managed entirely by Zellerfeld’s proprietary software and hardware system, takes only a few hours from order to completion, dramatically improving manufacturing agility and responsiveness.

The HUGO FORWARD x Zellerfeld will be available via Zellerfeld’s online store, as well as at HUGO stores in Amsterdam and Milan. Priced around $190 (approx. RMB 1,400), the shoe reflects both exclusivity and accessibility compared to traditional luxury footwear pricing.

Zellerfeld, a leader in 3D-printed footwear, has already collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Nike, Moncler, and Mallet London, among other brands and designers. Recently, the company partnered with Solebox to introduce the world’s first in-store end-to-end 3D-printed footwear customization experience in Berlin. Customers can witness the entire journey—from foot scanning to material selection—culminating in a fully recyclable, glue-free shoe manufactured on-site.

The collaboration between Hugo Boss and Zellerfeld highlights how 3D printing is reshaping the future of fashion and footwear, offering sustainability, customization, and speed that traditional shoemaking struggles to match.
